Greetings Colleagues,
We have had a remarkable start to the beginning of the academic year and here we are preparing for the holidays. I am proud of the way we pulled together and worked together remaining focused on the Thomas L. Lakin Institute for Mentored Leadership, Men of Color Student Leadership, and the PRT fall Business Meeting held in Pittsburgh, PA, on October 2-9, 2022. We also had the opportunity to connect as presidents during our professional development activities focused on “Leading While Black.” In addition, we are excited to have hosted a virtual networking sharing event for PRT retirees, exploring the topic of Legacy.
In this edition of the newsletter, there are a number of updates and tibits highlighting the fall activities in Pittsburgh. If you weren’t there, you missed it!
Please remember to stay current with your membership dues. The PRT is planning for the AACC Convention with an awesome opportunity to celebrate forty years of existence. Mark your calendar for Sunday, April 2, 2023, at 5 p.m. in Denver, CO, for the “PRT Reunion Year Reception.”
We plan to celebrate the many successes of PRT as we continue to seek to ensure equal access to opportunities for members and Black CEOs by leveraging their combined knowledge, networks, and experience.
I am requesting that you please create your profile for the online directory for PRT. Detailed instructions are below.
.
The new year will bring challenges of its own, and I want us all to be rejuvenated and ready to embrace whatever lies ahead. Our students and our communities count on us. I’m looking forward to the future and our continued commitment to the work of PRT and assisting others.
However you choose to celebrate the holidays, do so with gratitude, thankfulness, and anticipation for the opportunity to do more, be more, and help more during 2023.
Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season,
- Marshall Washington, Ph.D.
