I hope you have had a great semester so far. We are almost over the hump for the spring semester! As we prepare for the spring meeting, we want to provide you with a couple of important updates:
We want to ensure that we support one another at AACC, so if you have a presentation, PLEASE send us the title, date, and time. We are compiling a list to share with our membership. We want to support you!

This will be the first time we will have seen one another in a while; join us to get reconnected. Brief comments will be made at 6:15. Many thanks to our sponsors, Thought Exchange and Skillpointe.
The PRT Business Meeting: Monday, May 2, 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 in Sheraton NYC Midtown Hotel, Bowery Room.We will have a full breakfast and provide important updates/voting items. You will receive an invitation with an RSVP; we hope to see you there. Many thanks to our sponsors, Thought Exchange and Swim Digital.
We are still seeking interest and nominations for Convener, Treasurer, and Membership Chair. If you have interest, please contact Dr. Charlene Dukes at [email protected].
The last two years have been a blur in a lot of ways, but one of the highlights for me has been serving as Convener. While I haven’t had the traditional leadership opportunity given the pandemic, we pushed forward nonetheless. The organization has developed a strategic plan that has resulted proceeding with seeking 501C3 status, increased membership, a virtual Lakin and MOCSLI Experience, and virtual professional development opportunities.
In the last two years, we have seen a tremendous increase in Black finalists in CEO searches resulting in appointments in Maryland, Nevada, South Carolina and many more. And, another one of our own is transitioning to the university academy—join me in celebrating Bill Pink, the President for Ferris State University in Michigan.
Our strategic plan is titled Pushing Forward for 2024, I believe these examples highlight our collective desire to continue to push forward, but we cannot stop. Your talent, time, and treasures are needed to continue moving the PRT and our mission forward.
I hope to see you in New York!
