The Piedmont Community College (PCC) Board of Trustees named Dr. Pamela Gibson Senegal as its fifth President and the first woman to lead the College. Dr. Senegal will begin her Presidency on July 1, contingent upon her final approval by the State Board of Community Colleges on June 26.
The Trustees entered this presidential search with a determination to find a visible leader who is accessible to all constituents within the College and greater communities, while also demonstrating collaborative leadership skills. It was also the Board’s interest to find a candidate who will continue to build and implement effective plans that include actively supporting the development of partnerships between the College, business and industry, other educational organizations, cultural entities, and civic organizations throughout our service area.
Dr. Senegal’s employment history demonstrates her commitment and ability to fill these needs.
Most recently the vice president of Economic and Community Development at Central Carolina Community College (CCCC), Dr. Senegal brings more than 20 years of higher education leadership, business experience, and community service to her new role at Piedmont Community College.
